Job Description

The Internal Audit Intern will have the hands-on opportunity to work with experienced audit staff of various levels and technical knowledge of Valley's business lines, products and services, and back office operations. The Intern will leverage their current level of education with exposure to audit tools, techniques, and one on one engagement with seasoned audit professionals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Assist auditors through hands-on audit techniques which may include obtaining and analyzing audit evidence, verifying bank records of customer accounts and bank financial documents to analysis of supporting documentation.
* Work closely with audit staff on a variety of task teams, special projects, and audit engagements.
* Work with experienced audit staff on the completion of audit field work on for bank processes throughout Valley's business units, and products and services. Use of audit software to document various phases of the audit process.
* Learn audit techniques which include how data analytics can be applied to conduct testing to enhance or replace the traditional sampling approach.
* Generate a visual analysis with charts/graphs for several audits and audit functions which portray testing results.

Required Skills:

* Strong quantitative, analytical, data-intuition, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong knowledge of data analysis tools, such as Excel, Access, Microsoft Power BI, ACL, SQL.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Detail oriented, organized, and accurate with information conveyed.
* Ability to be resourceful and work independently.

Required Experience:

* High School Diploma or GED and enrollment in a 2 or 4-year degree program.
* Enrollment in a 4-year college or university, with a concentration in Business Administration, Accounting, or Auditing preferred.
