USU Eastern Blanding Campus The Federal TRIO Student Support Services Grant has an opening for a Project Director. Successful candidate will administer the Student Support Services (SSS) Grant according to federal regulations and guidelines. Master's degree and 3 years of experience required.  


  • Administer the Student Support Grant according to federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Implement the Plan of Operation as detailed in the Student Support Services grant proposal.
  • Prepare, expend, and monitor the SSS budget according to federal allowable costs and the approved budget.
  • Supervise Student Support Services staff, including the hiring, verifying time and effort, approving leave time and conducting annual performance appraisals.
  • Complete and submit the Annual Performance Report according to federal requirements.
  • Complete and submit new SSS grant application, although the time spent will be charged to an institutional budget.

USU Eastern Blanding Campus: Founded in 1976, the Utah State University Eastern Blanding Campus opens doors for residents in Utah’s remote southeast corner, including Native Americans in the Four-Corner region. It is a college campus small enough to keep students from getting lost in the crowd but with connections large enough to offer them endless possibilities. It is a stepping stone from high school to college and on to a successful career.

The Blanding campus also supports many learning centers in the Four-Corners area providing educational access to dozens of sites in a service region of more than 40,000 square miles, half of which are in tribal lands.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, Educational Psychology or closely related field.
  • Three years successful experience administering a Student Support Services or similar project.
  • Specialized training and/or coursework related to implementing best practices and strategies that increase retention, increased graduation, and transfer rates.
  • A minimum of 2 years successful experience in designing and implementing college level program for development of basic skills in reading, writing, study skills and math.
  • A minimum of 2 years successful experience in meeting educational needs of low-income, first generation college students.
  • A minimum of 2 years successful experience with budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in project management including federal regulations, personnel, program design and implementation, reporting performance, and evaluation.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in academic advising and counseling.
  • Knowledge of current financial aid resources, policies, and regulations.
