All applicants must possess one year of specialized experience. To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined below:

GS-6: One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal Government. Examples of specialized experience include, experience processing vendor invoices and reimbursements into an automated accounting system; experience in data entry processing of customer collections; experience working in an electronic invoice tracking and management system; experience examining source documents and transactions for accuracy and completeness; experience working with a group of people in a team environment; and experience communicating efficiently, utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills.

GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal Government. Examples of specialized experience include, experience in researching and solving problems related to the generation of payments to vendors or collections from customers; experience in explaining technical or regulatory requirements regarding payments and collections to vendors, employees and customers; experience in accounting procedures with respect to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other expenditures; experience working with accounting entries and accounting systems to accomplish any number of accounting tasks; and experience in analysis and review of reports to initiate accounting entries.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Category rating and selection procedures will be used for evaluating this position. If you meet the basic qualification requirements, your on-line responses to the vacancy assessment questionnaire will be used to determine the quality and extent of your experience, education, training, etc., for placement in one of the following categories: 1) Best Qualified, 2) Well Qualified and 3) Qualified. Qualified candidates will be assigned a numerical score on a scale of 70-100 and Veterans with preference will be placed at the top of their respective category. The assessment questionnaire will take you approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Applicants will be further evaluated on the following "Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)" through your resume and responses to the online questions.

* Knowledge of disbursements and collections and proper use of procedures and business practices.
* Ability to analyze accounting classification and determine the need for the type of adjustments necessary to reconcile general ledger accounts and Master Data for suspense and cash.
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in order to exchange information and provide guidance to vendors, customers, and employees at all levels.
