Job Description

As an intern at the Urban Institute, you'll work alongside experts across the organization and beyond in the nation's epicenter of public policy - Washington, DC. Your work will have an impact on real-life, real-time policy issues and discussions.

How you'll contribute

* Support finance team with the preparation of monthly reports regarding endowments, budget variances, allocations, labor, utilization, project and investment tracking, and other reports as necessary
* Configure and customize dashboards and reports to meet the needs of research centers and administrative departments
* Build ad-hoc financial models and analytics
* Assist with Jamis Prime related tasks including, but not limited to, budgeting and forecasting
* Provide additional support to the finance team

What you'll bring:

The successful candidate will:

* Be pursuing bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
* Have knowledge of GAAP principles
* Possess advanced Excel skills
* Have strong communications and presentation skills
* Display attention to detail
* Possess customer service skills
* Exhibit the ability to work in a fast-paced team
* Have a positive attitude
* Have experience with Hyperion Essbase, and/or JAMIS Prime is a plus
* Possess relational database experience like Microsoft Access
