Job Description

The position performs a variety of paraprofessional functions that help to assure that the governance of the Department of Medical Sciences (DMS) fulfills and complies with the requirements of the University of Wisconsin-Madison policies and procedures, as well as a variety of applicable state and federal policies, rules and regulations. Provides paraprofessional, confidential, administrative support to the Department Chair, Administrator, as well as Department faculty and staff. The position is critical to faculty promotion and recruitment in the Department of Medical Sciences. Assists with the oversight of the Department of Medical Sciences Residency and Intern Program, both of which are national programs. This position exercises a significant degree of independence and latitude along program lines.

Under limited supervision, the incumbent will co-supervise student hourly(ies), provide administrative support to the Department Chair, Department Administrator, Faculty, Residents, Interns, Staff, and various departmental committees. This position serves as the liaison and requires daily interaction between administrative staff, departmental faculty, staff, and other outside staff in the completion of assigned special projects. This position assists in the management and completion of multiple complex special projects.
