Job Description

Post-doctoral position (4 years):

A newly NIH-funded Immunology postdoctoral position is available immediately to investigate a novel vaccine adjuvant (Wang H, Lee T-J, Fites SJ, Merkhofer R,Zarnowski R, Brandhorst T, et al. (2017) Ligation of Dectin-2 with a novel microbial
ligand promotes adjuvant activity for vaccination. PLoS Pathogens, 2017, 13 (8):e. ppat.) for vaccination against fungi and other microbial pathogens that require cell mediated immunity for host protection.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and experienced in cellular and molecular immunology. Experience in expression cloning in eukaryotic cells (Pichiapastoris and S. cerevisiae), glycobiology, pathogen recognition signaling pathways, T-cell biology and murine models of infectious diseases are desirable.

Education, training, experience:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in related area (fungal immunology, pathogenesis and molecular biology) and/or M.D. or equivalent, awarded within the last five years. The applicant must also have a strong written and verbal skills in English, and publication record that shows expertise and productivity related to the research focus of the lab.
