Job Description

Research Analyst at University of Utah in SLC: Requires at least a Bachelor's degree in health sciences/clinical field such as nursing or exercise/sport science. Education must include at least one college level course in statistics. Requires 6 months experience with the following: working in clinical environment including adult intensive care unit setting, collecting data involving medical or surgical diagnoses or physiology, and use of Epic or Cerner electronic medical records. The experience requirements can be satisfied through employment, training or an academic program.

The Research Analyst in the Division General Surgery will be involved in analyzing clinical and quality data on every patient treated in the Surgical and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Units at the University of Utah. Duties involve application of a high level of clinical-medical knowledge and skill in extracting data from multiple clinical sources. The Research Analyst is required to gather, organize, maintain and analyze clinical and quality data. This involves using the University's electronic medical records, verifying data using statistical software, and creating reports using Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Duties involve preparation of reports for critical care physicians as well as administrative, nursing, and ancillary staff; presentation of reports to various audiences and training/education of office staff.
