Job Description:

Work with school faculty and staff, students, parents, and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program for the UTHS Online High School Diploma Programs. Counsel students to fully develop each students academic, career, personal, and social abilities and address the needs of special populations students.

* Facilitate ongoing and systematic communication with students and parents regarding registration, enrollment, changes to graduation requirements or course offerings, and study support. Develop and maintain current guidance documents and Personal Graduation Plans (PGPs) for each student.

* Communicate information to students via webinar, email, website, or phone. Maintain accuracy of student records, enter student data, and generate student course schedules utilizing a variety of systems for student records including Skyward SIS, Box folders, UTHS server files, spreadsheets.

Required Qualifications

Masters degree in guidance counseling or in an approved program. Three years of teaching experience at the secondary level. Advanced technology skills including ability to schedule students and maintain student records in the Skyward SIS and use of other platforms such as Canvas LMS, Adobe Connect, and spreadsheet documents. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong collaborative skills and professionalism when working with all stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working as a counselor in a Texas public high school. Experience providing student guidance, study support, state testing, and support with G/T, 504, and special education services. Experience working with the Skyward SIS, Canvas LMS, or Adobe Connect. Experience with professional written communication including newsletters and professional documents. Experience working as a lead counselor in a Texas public high school. Experience and certification to teach a high school core subject.

* The work hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - 40 hours per week.
