Purpose

Member of McCombs Information Solutions Team (MIST) focused on developing and maintaining McCombs software in multiple technology stacks.

Essential Functions

Provide operational support for C-sharp/.NET as part of the MIST technical team, including systems analysis, some OS system administration, programming, investigating issues, and testing software applications and development environments in this complex, tiered computing environment. Provide operational support for Salesforce as part of the MIST technical team, including systems analysis, programming, investigating issues, and testing software applications and development environments. Ensure all products exhibit excellence in robustness, availability, security, data integrity, and failure tolerance. Provide customer support and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, including personal interaction, phone calls, voice mail, and email. Ensure application and system quality by preparing and maintaining documentation for all deliverables, including life cycle plans, project plans, and application site manuals. Validate, test, and document product releases. Contribute to team standards and process improvements. Professional development and continuing education.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

One year of experience in systems analysis, design and programming. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience generating unit tests, especially using test-driven development (TDD). Professional experience managing version control repositories, especially using distributed version control systems (DVCS). Professional experience using C-sharp and ASP.NET to design, build, test, and maintain software applications. Professional experience using Salesforce Apex to design, build, test, and maintain software applications, classes and triggers, Visualforce pages, data models for Salesforce applications, and the Salesforce.org Higher Education Data Architecture (HEDA). Professional experience using Natural/Adabas to design, build, test, and maintain software applications. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug applications integrated within a complex environment. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines successfully. Experience with the UT Austin administrative computing environment. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills with both non-technical and technical users.
