Job Description

The Gould School of Law seeks candidates for the position of Budget/Business Technician to join its team. The successful candidate will process department orders, disbursement vouchers, reimbursements, general journal vouchers, and other budget and business forms and will reconcile general ledgers. Duties will also include providing training and guidance to staff, faculty and student groups on budgets and completing appropriate paperwork for travel, purchasing, and other procurement matters.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate rules, policies and procedures as they relate to accounting issues, in a clear and helpful manner.

* Ability to work within fixed deadlines
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Presents oneself professionally, in line with higher education environment
* Proficient with Quicken, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

* Business administration, accounting or related degree and budget experience including knowledge of government and fund accounting
* Knowledge of University financial/budget policies and procedures
* Knowledge of University financial systems (Kuali, eMarket, Cognos, TARA)

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related office financial experience to provide a knowledge of accounts payable, income and expense accounting and reconcilement, and budget preparation.
