The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is currently seeking a Grant Writer for the office of Advancement. This position will research grant opportunities and potential funding in support of the university strategic initiatives as well as compose grant proposals to secure financial support for university priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Research possible grant opportunities and support the university process for grant development, submission, and acceptance of potential grants.
* Respond to inquiries for grant opportunity information and assist with the application process.
* Draft and complete information relevant to grant applications.
* Assist with implementation and maintenance of records and computer databases.
* Keeps informed on the best practices in the grants management field and recommends improvement to the grants management process.
* Assist with annual events such as Phone-a-thon, golf events, sporting events and regional alumni events.
* Provides administrative and organizational support for the grants office.
* Perform other duties as requested.

Required Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
* Previous grant writing experience is required.
* Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational skills are necessary.
* Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and meet deadlines.
