The University of Oregon Libraries' Center for Media and Educational Technologies (CMET) is located in Knight Library and provides a wide range of technology services and facilities that directly enable and enhance the University's mission. These include classroom technologies, CMET consulting, educational video production and streaming media services, and learning management systems administration and support. This is a new position that will administer the University of Oregon's enterprise learning management system (currently Blackboard) and provide hands-on management and integration of enterprise instructional systems.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Working closely with campus technology staff and CMET staff, the incumbent ensures high availability of the enterprise learning management system, manages upgrade and maintenance schedules, and ensures high quality user support for instructional technology systems. The incumbent provides technical leadership in the design, development, procurement and integration of enterprise instructional systems including but not limited to the enterprise learning management system and integrated video streaming platforms in support of online, distance, and hybrid course delivery. This position manages and supervises a team that includes .25 FTE unclassified staff, 1.0 classified staff, and up to 5.0 FTE student employees, and reports to the Director, Academic Technology.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience typically gained through 2-6 years of enterprise application and/or systems administration experience; minimum of 2 years Linux/Unix/Windows system administration experience in a production environment with demonstrated increasing responsibility; advanced expertise configuring and maintaining Unix and Linus applications, including automation of common configuration and setup procedures; experience with authentication integration (such as LDAP, CAS, Shibboleth, Active Directory); experience with instructional technology and/or end user support; ability to pass a mandatory criminal background check. The successful candidate will support and enhance a diverse learning and working environment. Desired : Experience with disaster planning and recovery; strong foundation in Systems and Applications Administration principles, including systems automation, change management, capacity planning, documentation, etc.; experience leading technology implementation projects on an enterprise scale; experience managing and integrating third party software into enterprise applications; professional experience working in a university environment. Experience with one or more of the following technologies a plus: streaming media servers; high-availability services to enterprise clients via application based load balancing or server clustering technologies; incident management; application administration experience with one or more learning management systems; Oracle; F5 BigIP load balancers.

Employment Conditions :
This is a full-time, 12-month position, located in Eugene, OR, and is classified as Officer of Administration, which includes annual, renewable contracts. Professional growth and service in keeping with University and Libraries' standards for retention and merit is expected.
