We are seeking a developer with web and database development experience to join a team that develops web applications and integration solutions for primary and secondary schools.
Participate in design and development of web applications for data collection and analysis.
Collaboratively implement solutions in a scrum environment. Code, write tests and technical documentation, prepare design documents using UML, and participate in code reviews.
Acquire an extensive knowledge of our data models and database systems.
Support research teams designing large-scale research projects.
Provide advice and technical assistance to researchers and research teams.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 2+ years' development experience or bachelor's degree in other field and 4+ years' development experience.
Strong background in PHP or Java.
Demonstrated experience with object oriented design and development techniques including use of UML or similar, and design patterns.
Relational database development and data modeling experience, preferably using SQL Server.
Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with customers to gather requirements, present releases, and discuss issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Unit testing and test-driven development
Development using Google Web Toolkit (GWT)
Experience with MS SQL Server

This position is subject to a criminal background check.
Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year.

Terms: This is a full-time position based on an annual contract 12 month contract, renewable annually depending on funding and performance.
