Job Description

The Institutional Research Analyst develops and conducts research in areas including, but not limited to, student retention and attrition; student goal attainment; financial optimization analysis; enrollment management modeling and forecasting; resource utilization, institutional costs and productivity; access and equity studies; and functional benchmarking specific to higher education. The position also requires technical and content area expertise to respond to internal, external and ad hoc information requests, and serves as in-house consultant on specific quantitative and qualitative research techniques to other professional staff engaged in assessment and analysis of institutional initiatives and policies. The incumbent may present at professional conferences and may supervise the work of support staff and graduate assistants, including assigning tasks, evaluating work, and evaluating job performance. Bachelors in a primarily quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics; or Masters in a primarily analytic field, such as Economics, Business Administration, Sociology, Political Science or Educational Research, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to applicants with extensive experience with SAS Visual Analytics. Proficiency in statistical analysis and in large-scale data retrieval and transformation required. Familiarity with student information system data and definitions.
