Job Description

The University of New Mexico, School of Engineering, Department of Computer Science invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track position at the level of Lecturer II (MS) or Lecturer III (PhD). The department is committed to excellence in both undergraduate and graduate education, with an ABET-accredited B.S. degree program in computer science, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs involving students in leading edge research.

Candidates must have completed an MS or PhD in CS or related by August 15, 2020. The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, proven teaching skills in undergraduate education and the ability to teach CS courses in areas of departmental need, and have a broadly demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as with broadly diverse communities.

The Department has seventeen tenure-track faculty with research expenditures over $3.6M per year, through grants from agencies including NSF, NIH, DARPA, ARO, NASA, and DOE. We are a collegial and friendly department at an exciting stage of growth. We enjoy strong research collaborations with the Santa Fe Institute and with Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories. Our faculty push the boundaries of interdisciplinary research through numerous collaborations with other UNM schools, departments, and research centers.
