Job Description

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The UNM Center for Development and Disability is seeking a Manager of Clinical Therapy Programs to oversee the operations of two programs, the UNM HATCH and the Milagro Clinical Services Programs, and to coordinate the training initiatives within the Specialized Early Childhood Services Unit of the Early Childhood Home and Family Services (ECHFS) Division.

The UNM HATCH (Helping All To Come Home), is a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to home program that provides home visiting services to families with newborns in the NICU. The goal of this program is to provide support to families in the NICU, help families connect to services within their community, and provide trauma-informed family engagement trainings to medical and early childhood providers working with fragile infants.

The UNM Milagro Clinical Services Program provides in-clinic support to Milagro Prenatal Clinic, a clinic that service pregnant women with substance use difficulties, and supports the transition of services from prenatal to postnatal care. This position will also oversee and implement training initiatives around the implementation of the Facilitating Attuned Interaction (FAN) model and topic-specific trainings around the care of high risk infants and parents within the Specialized Early Childhood Service Unit.

This position will work closely with the Associate Division Director of the ECHFS Division around implementation of clinical services within the Milagro Clinical Services and home-visiting services within the UNM HATCH Program. This will include being responsible for the oversight of daily operation of each program and the provision of administrative and reflective supervision to home visitors in the HATCH program, clinicians in the Milagro Clinical Services Program, and administrative staff in both programs to ensure quality care and compliance with University policies and contractual obligations. Within the HATCH program, this position will also be charged with developing an intervention protocol to guide services as well as working with the Associate Division Director around expanding services to Neonatal Intensive Care Units not currently served in the Albuquerque and Las Cruces area.

In coordination with the Associate Division Director, this position will be responsible for developing and monitoring budgets of both programs, which currently includes a budget of $800,000 in the HATCH program and $80,000 in the Milagro Clinical Services programs. This position will also be responsible for completing required reports to funding agencies based on contractual obligations for each program. Additionally, this position will represent each program at UNM and at state-related meetings to coordinate services within the state, enhance existing services, build capacity, and support program development initiatives. With regards to training, this position will oversee the training initiatives within the Early Childhood Specialized Services Unit in coordination with the Associate Division Director, specifically around topics related to the implementation of the FAN Model and the care of high risk infants and their parents. Furthermore, the position will provide direct clinical care within the HATCH and Milagro Clinical Services Programs.

* Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
* Knowledge of current principles, concepts, and approaches within specified areas of therapeutic expertise.
* Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in areas of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
