Job Description

The UNM Health Sciences Center Chief Information Office is looking for a Systems/Network Analyst 2 (SNA2) to maintain an existing on premise Microsoft systems environment and provide support for current and future HSC campus-wide systems and services.

Under indirect supervision, the SNA2 will provide intermediate technical support and oversight for systems and services, with an initial emphasis on support of an on premise Microsoft Exchange environment and the ability to support a future implementation of Microsoft O365 cloud or hybrid environment. The position will also support general installation and administration of Microsoft Windows Server (2012 and 2016), Active Directory services, server and storage hardware and enterprise applications (including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and support). They will provide technical recommendations in collaboration with the HSC Systems team that requires intermediate knowledge and experience within a predominantly Microsoft ecosystem including Active Directory, Windows Server 2012/2016 and Microsoft Hyper-V. The position requires base knowledge and intermediate experience in principles and practices of systems analysis and administration. The ability to use discretionary judgement for problem analysis and resolution as well as IT project management skills are required. Experience working within an ITIL framework is required. Intermediate experience with enterprise backup systems as well as business continuity and disaster recovery planning and implementation is desirable. Experience with identity management and user account management is desirable.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, intermediate experience in Microsoft server, virtualization and Active Directory technologies developed through experience and/or formal training, and a clear sense of customer service. A thorough understanding of the values, practices and procedures found in an academic health sciences center and a commitment to mentoring and developing technical staff is a plus.

HSC IT provides primary IT support for the academic and research operations at the Health Sciences Center. The successful applicant will work closely with the other IT departments and will be expected to collaborate with our partners and counterparts in the UNM Health System (clinical operations) in the management of enterprise-wide shared services. This position will participate in the rotation schedule of on-call Systems staff to respond to and address critical system issues outside of regular work hours. All members of the HSC Systems group must demonstrate a commitment to consistently providing responsive, high quality customer service to departments and end users.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012 and 2016) and Active Directory within a complex IT environment. List any applicable professional certifications, e.g. MCSE
* Proficiency with server virtualization technologies - (Microsoft Hyper-V and/or Nutanix AHV)
* IT project management skills, particularly those involving system upgrades and migrations
* Ability to plan, implement, install, test and troubleshoot system software and hardware within an ITIL framework of change management
* Proficiency with Microsoft Exchange Server administration and Microsoft Outlook client support
* Experience with PowerShell scripting
* Experience with enterprise Backup/Restore systems, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity processes
* Experience with Identity Management systems (Sailpoint preferred) and user account management desired
