Provides basic level of workstation support to an assigned customer base which includes installing and troubleshooting workstation and peripheral hardware and software; customer training; workstation security administration; documentation and technical writing. Consults with senior specialists and/or supervisor to assist customers with more complex problems.

Basic working knowledge of PC configuration and troubleshooting; installation and troubleshooting of desktop applications, and networking configuration.; IBM PC Intel and compatible architectures; Apple Macintosh and compatible architectures; Windows and Apple Mac OS for workstation operating systems; Microsoft operating system; working knowledge of Ethernet connectivity; and network printing.

Hardware knowledge to include include IBM compatible PCs, Apple-Macintosh devices, printers, scanners, laptops, notebooks, PDAs, and other peripherals.

Software knowledge to include Microsoft Windows (all versions), Microsoft Office Suite, WordPerfect, Adobe, Internet Explorer, antivirus software, web-authoring software; Virtual Private Network (VPN) software; email systems.
