Job Description

Perform all duties related to advising undergraduate students. Maintain thorough familiarity with all Arts and Sciences undergraduate programs and curricula and admission requirements to professional programs. Advise current, transfer, returning and prospective students on academic program planning in person, by e-mail, by mail and by phone. Advise students concerning academic standards, major selection, and college requirements, policies and procedures. Serve as the primary advisor to selected majors within the natural and mathematical sciences, and act as a liaison between students and departments. Utilize various student information systems to assess student progress and record contacts in digital file system. Assist with recruitment and retention efforts. Assist with developing advising materials and workshops. Evaluate transfer credit. Serve as project management lead on at least one area in the office. Contribute to the smooth running of a college advising center.
