Job Description

The Internship Coordinator will provide instrumental support for the continued growth of the UNO SCCJ internship program, supporting UNO's goals of Academic Excellence and Community Engagement. Key responsibilities for this 12 month position include:

* Instructor of record. The internship coordinator will serve as the instructor of record for Fall, Spring, and Summer sections of CRCJ 3970: Internship in Criminal Justice. The coordinator will also teach one class each session in his/her area of specialization.
* Engage community partners. The internship coordinator will maintain relationships with agencies currently serving our interns and build new partnerships with area criminal justice agencies for the purpose of developing experiential learning opportunities for our students. The coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that internship agreements with partner agencies are executed.
* Assess student learning. In addition to the assignment of student grades, the internship coordinator will assist with the assessment of the SCCJ's end-of-program student learning outcomes (SLOs). The assessments of student products will be used to inform program improvement and to help meet UNO's and the Higher Learning Commission's assessment reporting standards.
* Develop and monitor growth goals. The coordinator will work with the SCCJ Undergraduate Program Coordinator to develop appropriate growth goals for the internship program. The internship coordinator will develop a database to facilitate systematic tracking and reporting of internship numbers and placements and to assess progress toward growth goals.
* Intern recruitment, application, and placement. The internship coordinator will work with academic advisors to recruit students through class visits and internship information sessions. Further, the coordinator will review internship applications and work with students to find placements suitable to their skills and career goals.
* Organize and conduct internship seminar each semester
* Organize and conduct a minimum 3-4 annual internship information sessions
* Help to organize professional workshops or special career related trainings for students
* Participate in internship or career fair events
* Provide Career related guidance to students
