Broad Scope and Function of Job

Apply principles of accounting to manage all project accounts associated with the campus operation of Facilities Design and Construction, including purchase order and invoice processing, account reconciliation, budget planning and other related financial work.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain all financial information on campus related projects, including disbursements, expenses and fees.

Compile monthly reports and analyses on projects for the Director(s) of Facilities Design and Construction.

Liaise between vendors, contractors, Purchasing and Accounts Payable, client financial representatives, and project managers to ensure that all financial activities associated with projects are accurate at all times.

Support the senior accountant with closing out completed plant accounts, providing summaries for project managers. Provide Form 8's to project assistant to assure that proper funding is accredited to the appropriate plant account. Assist project managers and their project assistants to accelerate the close-out process on projects. Maintain the internal financial reports and prepare journal entries to post to accounts.

Review and troubleshoot discrepancies on financial reports for all projects. Make corrections as necessary. Pinpoint outstanding issues related to the appropriate project manager.

Prepare and distribute costs to proper project and operating accounts, detailing assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.

Meet with project managers and staff as necessary to discuss unresolved concerns related to processing purchase orders and invoices.

Maintain the necessary files to support the above work.

Maintain a positive working relationship with University staff and adhere and support the University's Common Purpose, DIRECCT Values and Behaviors, and Service Standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Education. Skills and Work Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution with major course work in accounting required.
* 2-5 years effective and relevant work experience.
* Knowledgeable of MS Excel is a must; Proficient in MS Office products including Word and Outlook.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
