The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an opportunity available for a Ophthalmic Technician within the Department of Ophthalmology located on our Medical campus. The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist by gathering data pertaining to the patients visual status and maintaining an environment conductive to the delivery of efficient, quality eye care. Will also monitor and maintain the appropriate levels of minor equipment, administration of diagnostic pharmaceutical agents, and explain procedures according to guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program is preferred. A minimum of one year experience working as an Ophthalmic Technician is required. Good oral and communications skills are essential. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
