Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences is seeking a student who is a skilled writer and creative thinker to assist the Director of Communications with brand storytelling and content creation. The Communications Assistant will be responsible for conducting in-person and phone interviews with College stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, alumni) and writing engaging content in the form of blog entries, press releases, feature articles, faculty/alumni profiles, and social media posts for digital and print marketing initiatives. Applicants should have a strong understanding of how to write for multiple audiences using appropriate tone and voice for different pieces. Experience with AP Style is desired but not required. The Communications Assistant will also assist with photography and certain administrative tasks as-needed (filling out order forms, coordinating with printers and graphic designers, etc.). Experience operating DSLR cameras and with Adobe photo-editing software is preferred. Please attach a writing sample with your application.
