Job Description

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Radiology - BI is seeking a Clerk III Reading Room Coordinator to serve as a liaison for the Department of Radiology Reading Rooms. This position is responsible for prompt communication of patient and examination information. This position is the first point of contact, in person or by phone, to coordinate and ensure efficient workflow processes are followed in an efficient and accurate manner.

Duties Include:

* Responsible for communicating patient and exam information to the Radiologist from referring providers, technologists, and other healthcare personnel
* Assist the Radiologist by making phone calls and locating ordering providers for communication from the Radiologist when reading the studies
* Review EPIC reading worklists and Status Reports to assist Radiologists in the reading workflow
* Effectively facilitate communication, as needed, between the technologists and Radiologists
* Assist with tracking and investigating external studies
* Effectively communicate with staff and clinics
* Perform general clerical duties as assigned
* Assist with special projects as assigned by staff
* Must have the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a very busy reading room setting
* Perform other projects or tasks as assigned.

Percent of Time: 100%

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, ½ hour lunch

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

* Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.

Special Qualifications

* Medical Terminology
* Public contact/Customer Service

Desirable Qualifications

* 6 months clinical administrative work preferred
* Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
* Prefer excellent communication skills
* Basic computer skills
* EPIC experience preferred
