University of Colorado - Department of Mechanical Engineering

Asst Professor

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. Applications from candidates in mechanical engineering and related fields will be considered. Individuals with a proven track record in research areas including controls, systems engineering, mechatronics, autonomous systems, solid mechanics, and/or experimental fluids-thermal research are encouraged to apply.

Reporting to the chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the position is expected develop an externally funded research program while publishing in peer-reviewed science and engineering journals. The position is also expected to develop and teach lecture and laboratory courses at all levels of Mechanical Engineering and advise student research.

CU Denver is Colorado's number one research funded university, offering comprehensive programs for undergraduate, graduate, and health sciences students on two campuses-in downtown Denver and on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is located on the Denver campus and offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering accredited by ABET, Master of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and an interdisciplinary PhD program. The College of Engineering and Applied Science also has PhD programs in Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have demonstrated expertise in Mechanical Engineering as evidenced by the candidate's publication and funding record.
