Job Description

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Departmentat the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applicationsfor a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. Weseek an aggressive faculty member in communication systems and wirelessnetworking starting fall semester 2018. Applicants will be evaluated based ontheir research record and potential for attracting external research funding,as well as their ability to interface their research with the Department'sexisting strengths in microelectronic circuits, VLSI design, computers,communications/signal processing, and controls. The department is interested incandidates with a strong commitment to pursuing externally funded research andteaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

The College of Engineering and Applied Science at UCCSoffers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. The Microelectronics Research Laboratory(MRL) of the ECE Department has a well-equipped 4000 sq. ft. class-100 cleanroom, with device processing and characterization facilities. The Microwave Measurements Laboratory is ableto test EMI from high-power circuits. TheHigh-Capacity Battery Research Laboratory has facilities to test andcharacterize cells, modules, and battery packs for hybrid and electricvehicles. The successful candidate will teach students from the freshmanthrough senior/graduate technical elective levels in networking signals andsystems, communications theory and practice, and wireless networking relatedcourse work.

Required qualifications

1) A Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or a closelyrelated field

2) Specific expertise in communication systems andwireless networking

Preferred qualifications

1) Postdoctoral and/or industrial experience with astrong publication/funding record

2) Experience with development and implementation ofwireless networking systems, such as testbeds.
