Candidates with demonstrated excellence in research are sought for appointment to the Ruth Rosevear Professorship in Maternal and Child Nutrition. The Department of Nutritional Sciences seeks a full-time, 9-month tenure track (Associate or Full Professor preferred) faculty to lead an emerging research program in the area of maternal and child nutrition. The candidate should be able to: 1) lead an externally funded research program in maternal and child nutrition; 2) teach and mentor graduate students in related content; and 3) play a central role in building a nationally recognized research program in nutrition for the mother and child.
Qualifications: Candidates should hold a doctorate in nutrition or a directly related field and have an established record of research and extramural funding in the area of maternal and child nutrition. A demonstrated record of teaching experience is also required. Candidates should have high-level quantitative research skills and a strong interest in collaboration with faculty members from diverse disciplines.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide leadership in the area of maternal and child nutrition and build a nationally-recognized, externally-funded research program in this area, while collaborating with faculty and departments within the College of Allied Health and the University of Cincinnati as a whole. Areas of research interest include but are not limited to reproductive epidemiology, dietary patterns and habits of pregnant women, fetal origins of disease, epigenetics, and nutrition education and behavioral approaches targeted to pregnant women. The candidate will also teach graduate courses and direct student research in maternal and child nutrition.
Salary and Appointment date: This is a 9-month tenure-track appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience. Appointment may begin in August 2016 or on a mutually agreed-upon date.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences provides training leading to bachelor degrees in dietetics and food and nutrition and a master's degree in nutrition. The Department is housed in the College of Allied Health Sciences within the vibrant UC Medical Center and adjacent to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. A Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training serves the UC medical campus providing expert research support for investigators including consultation on research design and implementation.
