ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/PROFESSOR of Emergency Medical Services

(Open Rank - Title and Rank Commensurate w/Experience)

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at an Open Rank of Assistant/Associate/Professor to also serve as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Director within the Allied Health Department to begin August 15, 2016. This position qualifies for an advanced academic rank but will be filled at a rank not lower than Assistant Professor. Tenure status is negotiable as related to the faculty member's education, clinical experience, and teaching experience. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees, with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students. All positions require proficiency in English and excellent information literacy/computer skills. Tenure track faculty responsibilities include teaching courses within the associate degree EMS program; supervising and evaluating students in the clinical lab setting; participating in accreditation, recruitment, academic advising, program resource development, and other program, department, college, and university functions.

 

Position Qualifications:  (Minimums) Associate degree in EMS, fire science, or nursing; Master's degree in a related field; Paramedic certification; EMS instructor license/certification; ACLS and PALS instructor certifications; three to five years' experience in an EMS field or hospital emergency department setting; three to five years of recent documented successful teaching experience in an EMS program in a regionally-accredited college or university.

 

Ideal Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in EMS, fire science, or nursing and a master's degree in nursing with certification as a paramedic, registered nurse, and ACLS and PALS instructor; and Ohio or national EMS instructor license/certification. Experience with the process of state and national EMS programmatic accreditation, EMS Program Director and/or Clinical Coordinator experience in a regionally-accredited college or university.
