Teach youth and adult lessons following the guidelines of the American Red Cross Learn-to Swim program. Keep accurate attendance and course completion records and issue certifications if appropriate. Perform various duties based on departmental need.
Current certification as a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) required. Instructors should have the knowledge, experience, desire and flexibility to teach both youth and adult swim lessons at the CRC Aquatic Center.
Prefer swim instructors to be currently certified in Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours for undergraduate students and 5 credit hours for graduate students), with the exception of summer semester, or will be a registered student during the next academic semester for summer work. Must be age 16 or older.
