The University of Cincinnati (UC), College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for multiple faculty positions in several departments in the College. Rank, tenure, salary and startup funding will be negotiated commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.


Applicants Requisition # 11819 will be considered for a position in the Department of Engineering Education (DEE).


Consisting of 8 full-time faculty, the Department of Engineering Education (DEE) is responsible for teaching three foundational engineering courses to approximately 1150 first-year engineering students. Additionally, DEE provides tutoring and mentoring to all first-year students, and advises students in the Freshman Engineering Program (FEP) and Engineering and Applied Science Entrance Program (EASE).  The Department is currently looking to develop graduate level courses focused on engineering education as well as to increase the number of courses taught with particular emphasis on common Engineering courses during the first two years within the Engineering Curriculum.  More information on the department can be found at http://ceas.uc.edu/dee.


The successful candidates will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate engineering courses specific to their specialty area online and/or in a traditional classroom setting, participate in service related activities, develop an externally funded research program in the applicable engineering field of expertise, advise graduate and undergraduate students, and publish research results in professional journals. In addition, the successful candidate may participate in curriculum and course development.  Duties also include  teaching introductory courses in engineering and MatLab.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:    A PhD in an engineering field is required.
