Unit Job Summary

Research Professional works with professor on multiple research projects to collect data, maintain databases, conduct statistical analysis, and provide other support associated with faculty research.

This position is expected to last one to two years.


* Collects data, conducts complex statistical analysis, writes statistical software programs, and organizes the presentation of results.
* Creates charts, tables, and descriptive text for presentations.
* Maintains databases, reviews background materials, and performs preliminary research.
* Oversees part-time undergraduate RAs.


Bachelor's degree or higher in a field relevant to the research being conducted by start date required.

Concentration in Economics or a strong interest in and some experience with economics preferred.


A minimum of one year of relevant research experience required. Experience gained in school counts towards the requirement.

Experience with the managing of multiple projects or complex tasks required.

Experience with Python and its use in extracting data from online sources required.

Experience with Stata or another statistical package such as SAS, or R, and a willingness to learn Stata preferred.


Excellent and professional verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail, required.

Strong problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are required.

Ability to work well independently, as well as with others, and to meet deadlines under pressure is required.
