Requisition Number: 31212 Job Title: PROGRAMMER/ANALYST III Working Title: Business Analyst Salary: $5,234 - $10,358 monthly Job Type: Contract Department Name: 5090-REGISTRAR'S OFFICE Department Website URL: http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/ Job Summary Statement: The Programmer/Analyst III, under the general supervision of the Business Analyst Managers Group, Student Affairs Information Technology (SAIT), will be a business analyst/operational (business support) analyst for systems in Student Affairs and for the campus, which includes moderate-to-complex systems, but not limited to, Student Information Systems, Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS), Student Records, Financial Aid, Student Affairs Department Systems, and supporting data systems, applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Student Information Systems.

The business analyst/operational (business support) analyst responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following: 1.) Conduct thorough and detailed systems analysis, application design and development, for moderate-to-complex systems in Student Affairs and for the campus. 2.) Elicit requirements using interviews, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business and system process analysis, task and workflow analysis, and applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. 3.) Create and maintain moderate-to-complex business analysis artifacts, such as wireframes, use cases, traceability matrix, and process models, applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. 4.) Create and maintain sketches, workflow diagrams, wireframes and mock-ups based on models created from elicitation and discovery of business requirements, and communicate business reasons behind user interface design decisions and user interface requirements in collaboration with developers and subject matter experts while adhering to user experience standards, and best practices. 5.) Seasoned, experienced business analyst/operation (business support) resource to provide oversight for moderate-to-complex web based student applications on campus with respect to functionality and overall design in Student Affairs and for the campus. 6.) Develop and run reports, queries, stored procedures, views, SSIS jobs and other SQL Server database objects for the Student Records Database databases in Student Affairs and for the campus. 7.) Provide day-to-day operational (business support) system support of the Student Information Systems and SAIT, which includes, but not limited to, AdAstra Vendor System, Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS), Student Records, Financial Aid, and supporting data systems for the University with policy guidelines and requirements set and mandated by SAIT, the Academic Senate and its committees, campus and University policies, and State and Federal laws mandated by UCOP, and Federal and State Regulations. 8.) Participate in the analysis and resolution of operational (business support) system production problems and maintenance of established Student Information Systems and SAIT Systems which includes, but not limited to, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting. 9.) Ensure the accuracy of Student Information Systems and SAIT Systems data and content that supports the Student Information Systems and SAIT Systems which includes documenting processes and procedures that ensure the accuracy of Student Information Systems data and SAIT Systems and content. 10.) Use thorough knowledge and experience in SQL as part of project development, change requests, and operation and production support and troubleshooting. Education: Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years of experience required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
