Requisition Number: 30428 Job Title: ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST Working Title: Writing Center Manager Salary: $23.04 - $45.54 hourly Job Type: Contract Department Name: 0770-WRITING PROGRAMS Department Website URL: Job Summary Statement: Under the general supervision of Director, manage the payroll and personnel functions of the Undergraduate Writing Center, including approximately 40 peer learning facilitator positions (PLF) and 20 Receptionist positions. Advise academic apprentice personnel and student employees of personnel and payroll policies and procedures, including payroll deadlines, as well as sensitive matters that may arise in the area of human resources. Initiate hiring, benefits, and all other actions and general assistance for academic apprentice and student staff, using the UCPath system. The incumbent also manages and analyzes associated functions with payroll budgets and allocations, reconciling expenses across dozens of fund sources. Incumbent establishes, maintains and analyzes all financial data associated with the above hires.

The Writing Center Administrator for the Undergraduate Writing Center (UWC) manages hiring, payroll, training, and scheduling of a large and complex student staff, and, in collaboration with the UWC Director, plans and coordinates the implementation of UWC services, activities, and events, such as workshops, as well as the record-keeping for and assessment of all services. The incumbent monitors and updates UWC webpages and social media presence, and develops marketing materials, and targeted UCLA contact lists for relevant programs, services, and events.

Incumbent will supervise and coordinate data capture and record-keeping efforts, in addition to analyzing data for use in long- and short-term programmatic planning, including grant and funding applications. They will use data gleaned from budget and analysis of usage statistics across the UWC's seven locations to create reports for the Human Resources Manager, Finance Manager and Director of the UWC on a quarterly basis, and for outside entities such as grant giving institutions, as needed. The UWC Manager will spearhead new qualitative and quantitative research initiatives and the development of new methods for collecting data on the Writing Center's impact, patterns of use, and tutoring practices to ensure the UWC is fulfilling its mission and for use in grant applications and contracts.
