UCLA College Development is seeking a creative, knowledgeable, and technology-savvy Marketing Specialist to assist with development and implementation of marketing and promotional materials that will advance the mission and goals of the College. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Communications, this individual will assist with the creation of marketing materials that will communicate the work of the College with the goals of increasing public awareness, enhancing the College's reputation, and encouraging engagement and support. The Marketing Specialist will have the ability to develop marketing materials, manipulate existing collateral, strong verbal and written communications skills, and the capacity to plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Percentage of Time: 100 Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm Qualifications for Position

1. Professional training in marketing and/or graphic design with at least a year of prior professional design experience.

2. Ability to implement marketing initiatives, including print and digital.

3. Working knowledge of printing and production processes to determine how best to prepare and coordinate each project.

4. Working knowledge of local vendors in terms of their performance and pricing.

5. High-level proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other layout programs.

6. Working knowledge of HTML/CSS.

7. Strong knowledge of social media platforms and strategies.

8. Well-developed design skills with a strong sense of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality to produce materials with a high level of aesthetic refinement and communicative effectiveness.

9. Must maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule to best accommodate efficiency of department needs.

10. Excellent verbal and written English language skills, with close attention to grammar, syntax, punctuation, spelling, and familiarity with AP Stylebook.

11. Well-developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with colleagues in the College and in External Affairs as well as a wide variety of external constituents.

12. Computer proficiency, especially on Apple products, in order to operate a personal computer, able to work on a computer network, and use software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite; ability to learn new software/systems in a prompt and efficient manner.

13. Detail oriented with ability to plan, organize, prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously; able to work independently, make effective timely decisions and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
