Job Description

Under general supervision of the IT Services Project Portfolio Manager, develop complex software for an enterprise-wide deployment at 10 UC campuses and 5 medical centers. Support the Risk and Safety Shared Services. Participate in designing, coding testing/test automation and documenting specifications of applications, and deliver robust solutions to meet the needs of Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Workers' Compensation. Work collaboratively with the application development Scrum team through all phases of the software development cycle.

Work Environment:

Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions. Work regularly scheduled hours (8am-5pm and occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays to meet project priorities. Work flexible or extended hours as needed based on workload demands. Travel to and from client sites on and off campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Completed 40 units or more of college-level coursework in computer science or equivalent work experience.

-Experience programming with Object Oriented programming languages.

-Experience with web application testing methods.

-Understanding of web applications and their development using a combination of related technologies including but not limited to: JSP, JSP Custom Tags, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring Framework.

-Knowledge of relational databases including SQL.

-Experience designing and implementing database application systems and user-centered Web interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience programming Java web applications using a combination of related technologies including but not limited to: modern mobile development frameworks, JSP, JSP Custom Tags, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring Framework.

-Experience with Java development tools, using both GUI and command-line interfaces: ' Eclipse Java IDE and Web Tools ' Ant ' Maven ' CVS ' SVN.

-Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle RDBMS, including SQL, and stored procedures.

-Experience with test automation practices and technologies including but not limited to: Selenium, Web Drive, Jasmine, Mocha

-Experience working in a project focused environment, working on projects of various sizes, and delivering objects on time, within budget, and with a high degree of quality.

-Experience interpreting business functions and objectives to technical solutions. -Interpersonal communication skills to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with administration, staff, visitors and volunteers using tact, diplomacy, and good judgment during interactions in the performance of a wide variety of programs and support functions.
