Job Description

Overview

The Revenue Support Analyst is responsible for the review of revenue against all third party billing guidelines to determine if additional reimbursement can be generated. The Revenue Support Analyst provides guidance for all staff in HBS regarding charging and billing practices. The Revenue Support Analyst acts as liaison with clinical departments regarding charging issues, questions or practices, as they relate to clean claims generation and supports process for charge capture for research accounts.

Salary: Annual $36,088 (Hourly $17.35)

Responsibilities

* Identifies research and resolve all charge and/or coding related outstanding edits preceding claim submission to assure compliant billing practices are followed.
* Adds and removes clinical charges accordingly for all payers depending on contractor documentation and method of payment for patients.
* Conducts internal audits and uses excel spreadsheets to determine issues that impact revenue.
* Assists Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator with clinical trial charge transfers.
* Performs audits, as needed, at the direction of HBS leadership.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related plus 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue related cycle operations involving billing, follow-up or collections OR High School Diploma/GED plus 7 years of experience in healthcare revenue related cycle operations involving billing, follow-up or collections.
* Knowledge of computerized patient account applications.
* Thorough understanding of UB-04, ICD-9, ICD-10, Charge Description Master Codes (CDM), billing systems and HCPCS coding.
* Must have advanced Microsoft computer skills including the use of excel functions to import external data on spreadsheets.
* Knowledge of billing and interpreting payer contracts.
