Workforce Systems, within the Division of Human Resources (HR), provides innovative business process solutions to our campus community. Our Business Analysts (BAs) are responsible for working with end-users and campus representatives as their first-line of support to provide system functionality solutions for our Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Peoplesoft 9.2. The successful candidate will participate in the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of business processes and technology solutions. Duties & Responsibilities

* Provides customer support to newly hired employees, campus end-users and business office representatives
* Troubleshoots production issues, makes recommendations for solutions and creates necessary specifications
* Participates in planning and implementation of system upgrades
* Prepares fit-gap analyses and functional specifications; designs prototypes, test plans or scripts, and performs user acceptance testing
* Assists with the development of project documentation
* Prepares and maintains internal procedures and internal/external operational guides
* Develops queries and performs data analysis for reporting
* Works with cross-functional teams to address and solve systems issues
* Performs miscellaneous transactional data entry and other duties as assigned or required to meet unit and University goals and objectives

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to excel in a customer service-oriented environment
* Skill in fact-finding and data collection
* Knowledge of forms design and procedures development
* Capable of evaluating and interpreting end-user information requirements
* Ability to apply critical thinking and exercise sound judgement
* Practical experience managing multiple tasks
* Self-motivated and able to adapt to continuous change

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related field AND one year of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, five years of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with HRIS applications such as PeopleSoft HCM 9.2
* Ability to use SQL or other query tools
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word in a work environment
* Direct work experience in a human resources, information technology, or higher education environment
* Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, writing functional specifications, developing test scripts, and implementing solutions
