Job Description

Specific duties include:

Mechanical equipment sizing, equipment and material specifications development - working with Process and other Disciplines as necessary to provide purchase-ready specifications and/or presentation to client for purchase and/or estimation. Candidate must have in-depth knowledge and application of industry codes and standards such as ASME 31.3, ASME 31.1, ASME 31.4, ASME 31.8, 49 CFR 192 and 195, and API.

Directs development of PFD's, P&ID's, site layouts, piping plans, piping specifications for use by CAD, back checking of 3D models, isometric drawings including bills of material by isometric drawings, etc. Candidate must be able to develop P&ID's, PFD's, line lists, tie in list, major valve list, mechanical equipment list, etc. in concert with Process Engineering and Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering and Design.

Candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of existing facility and pipeline piping standards, Codes, and rules-of-thumb. Materials selection, calculations, etc. must have an expertise with meter stations, but have the ability to cover the general breadth and depth of facility design from large pipeline stations with thousands of horsepower to small tank battery facilities and gathering systems.

Review of Vendor approval drawings and documents to ensure compliance with project and client specifications. Review of packaged equipment vendor job data books including, but not limited to, MTR's, weld maps, NDE reports, hydrostatic test record, etc.

Candidate must have advanced multi-tasking abilities with highly developed skills in most all oil/gas facilities and pipeline areas. This position is specifically looking for someone with strong meter station experience. Outside of expertise in Mechanical Facilities Engineering, the Candidate must exhibit knowledge and application of 'good engineering practices' in development of engineering designs. Candidate should have a working knowledge of the following, but not limited to: grading, foundation design, electrical cabling, duct bank, instrumentation, metering, processes (e.g. sweetening, stripping, regasification, etc.), permitting, building design, HVAC, cathodic protection, environmental considerations, construction laydown and access, platforms, stairs, ladders, railings, concrete structures, roads (temporary and permanent), wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, instrument loop sheets, building fans/ductwork, instrumentation/controls, pressure regulation, cable trays, surge/transient mitigation, conceptual development, construction estimating, TIC estimating, materials planning and management, procurement interfaces, technical bid evaluations, commercial bid evaluations, contracting strategies, scheduling, drawing production, job data books, etc.

Candidate shall exhibit highly-developed skills in client interfaces (internal and external), utilizing appropriate email protocols, and presentation of ideas, designs, drawings, documents, studies, estimates, etc. Candidate shall have good public speaking and technical writing abilities, able to convey complex ideas/results in multiple different media formats.

Experience is preferred with Google Earth, MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerpoint, MSVisio, Adobe Acrobat, MSOutlook, Webex, Pipeline Toolbox, Navisworks Freedom, and DWG TrueView. Other engineering specialty software, as required by assignment. Familiarity with Project/Primavera P6 and/or Newforma is a plus. Applicability and use of SharePoint libraries/lists, Fusion and Newforma also a plus. Experience in VPRM and materials/procurement interface execution and/or management is preferred.

Candidate Profile:

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
* 8+ years pipeline facilities experience with an expertise in meter stations
* E.I.T certification and P.E. license in Mechanical Engineering a plus but not required.
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
