Job Description

Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center is a 293-bed acute care facility that has been providing quality healthcare to residents of Southern Nevada since 1971. The hospital has long been referred to as "The Heart Hospital" by residents, due to its solid reputation as a leader in cardiac care. The hospital offers 24-hour emergency services and is nationally recognized for its diabetes, weight loss (bariatric) surgery, cardiac, and stroke programs.

Job Desription: Provides comprehensive evaluations of cognitive, communication skills and/or swallowing functions and provides goaloriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential. Assists leaders with training, orientation and performance review for Speech Therapists. Provides community and hospital staff training on Speech Therapy.

Job Requirements

Education: Masters Degree from a university program satisfying the ASHA academic and intern requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence.

Experience: Two or more years of progressively more responsible work in the field of Speech Pathology.

License/Certification: Nevada State Licensure as a Certified Speech Pathologist. ASHA, CCC-SLP certifications or in the process of completing Clinical Fellowship year. Current BLS certification.

Other: Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
