Job Description

The Assistant Controller is responsible for performing accounting functions as directed by the CFO, including but limited to: creating journal entries, completing account reconciliations, preparing financial reports and analytics. Position is also responsible for compiling data for internal and external audits; summarizing activity for cost reports; summarizing key indicators for the hospital; assisting the CFO in the preparation of annual budgets and the submission of information to regulatory bodies. Position will also serve as the backup for payroll and accounts payable.

* Leads closing process by preparing entries, account reconciliations and analysis.


* Prepares month-end supplemental schedules for submission to Corporate office.


* Completes and responds to internal and external data requests in a timely manner.


* Assists with annual budget preparation and forecasting activities.


* Supports CFO in ensuring an accurate and timely year end audit.


* Assists in development and implementation of new processes to enhance workflow and efficiency of the Finance department and hospital operations.


* Builds positive relationships with facility leadership and other departments to collaborate on issue resolution and implementation of process improvements.


* Serves as backup for payroll and accounts payable processing.


* Other duties as assigned by CFO



Job Requirements

Bachelor of Business degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA preferred.

Requires at least 3-5 years of experience. Healthcare experience preferred. Microsoft Excel experience required.
