Department Overview

Intern Architectural Drafter will provide assistance to the Aviation Planning team by working on updates to and maintenance of current document databases and design standards libraries, including details for millwork, signage, gate services, ticket lobbies, etc. The candidate will work on multiple phases of projects often assisting multiple departments within the Corporate Real Estate group. Under general supervision, Intern works from the design of others and performs routine architectural assignments. Assignments may include higher-level aviation planning work for training/development purposes. It is essential for the Intern candidate to demonstrate an eagerness and willingness to learn.

Job overview and responsibilities

* Supports the Manager - Aviation Planning and Sr. Manager - Design Standards and Planning in their roles within the Planning and Development organization.


* Maintain all databases associated with as-built drawings, gate layouts, and other planning documents.


* Create and update all standard documents needed to support the development of specific airport facilities required to support our customers.


* Prepare the technical drawings for aviation related projects in support of the Aviation planner, including gate layouts.


* Assist the airport affairs team with assessing new station space needs.



Required

* In process of obtaining Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Aviation Planning, Design, or Architecture.


* Experience with AutoCad, Revit, Civil2D/3D and/or GIS applications.



Preferred

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.


* Project management experience.

* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
* Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
* Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
