Job Description

Union Pacific's Network, Economic and Industrial Development team is looking for an intern to support business development at Union Pacific. Our team of regional experts provides guidance and rail project management for businesses wanting to build, expand or find a rail-served site to meet their logistics needs. The NEID intern program offers talented students a way to develop skills in a "real world" environment, supporting cross-departmental activities within Union Pacific and interfacing with external customers and external project partners. Successful applicants can look forward to a challenging and rewarding experience as a member of the NEID team. Interns work a maximum of 20-25 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during vacations and summer months. The position is a year-round assignment at Union Pacific Center in Omaha. As an intern, you will build knowledge and experience in our core business groups and their vision, business objectives, processes, systems, and services. The intern will have extensive contact with peers and interaction with senior leaders. There will also be an opportunity to put leadership, technical skills and business knowledge to immediate use through high value project assignments.

Assist with project management for various company initiatives and complete administrative tasks and special projects Learn and perform core department business group work tasks, processes, and customer services Perform administrative support for department business group managers Develop and execute project action plans and perform team assignments Build and strengthen a network of professional contacts within departments and across the company Perform other duties as assigned

College credits equivalent to one year toward an undergraduate degree Basic organization AND prioritization skills Basic time and project management skills Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Advanced analytical skills College credits equivalent to 2 years toward an undergraduate degree Able to effectively work independently and in group settings Experience with MS Office software applications, such as Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access A minimum of 1 year of work experience College credit in coursework related to supply chain management, operations management, logistics, marketing or a related field
