The Underwood Law Firm's Litigation Practice Group offers extensive experience at every stage of commercial and tort disputes-from pre-suit investigation and case evaluation through discovery, trial, and appeal. Underwood attorneys and paralegals are equipped with the latest technology to address the most complex litigation, while overseeing a substantial docket of less complicated cases. Our experience in complex litigation includes matters involving oil and gas, real estate, wills and probate, banking transactions, and Uniform Commercial Code controversies. Although our docket primarily involves civil defense, we also represent plaintiffs in commercial and personal injury cases. As counsel for a number of long term health care providers, Underwood attorneys have significant expertise in administrative law and medical negligence defense, practicing throughout Texas in federal, state, and administrative forums. (See Health Care Group). We defend insurance carriers in actions filed under the Texas Insurance Code and Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, as well as common law bad faith claims. With a broad corporate and institution client base, we routinely represent private and governmental entities in all aspects of employment (including retaliation/discrimination claims under state and federal laws), labor, workers' compensation, and nonsubscriber lawsuits. We are also experienced in all aspects of mediation and arbitration. Located one block from the 7th Court of Appeals, we maintain an active appellate practice.
