Job Description

The School of Music is accepting applications for a full-time Budget Manager.

Physical Demands:

The position requires computer work, which involves sitting for extended periods of time and extensive concentration. The amount of computer work varies from day to day with the longest period typically being seven hours per day and the shortest period being four hours per day. Physical demands typically categorized as sedentary to light work.

Job Summary:

The University of Northern Colorado is seeking a Budget Manager for the School of Music. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the budgetary functions within the School of Music (SOM), analyzing budgetary problems, and providing information that will help the School of Music Administrators make decisions regarding the expenditure of revenues within the school.
  • Interpreting budget policies and guiding SOM personnel through the implementation process.
  • Initiating special project/event contracts within SOM.
  • Maintaining a multitude of records including financial, purchasing and travel expenses.
  • Assisting with a variety of other projects as necessary within SOM.

Abilities/Qualities:

  • Perform difficult, complex and detailed clerical and administrative work with accuracy
  • Computer and data management software skills
  • Analyze fiscal problems and opportunities, and take appropriate action
  • Identify problems and recommend sound solutions
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Interpret, apply and initiate University, PVA, and SOM policies and procedures
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with others
  • Organize information accurately
  • Energetic, detail orientated, and have the ability to handle multiple tasks
