Job Description

UMBC is currently recruiting for part-time, adjunct faculty as
we expand our professional master's and graduate certificate
programs. All classes are offered in the evening. We invite highly
qualified applicants to apply for consideration. Positions will be
filled on an as-needed basis.
Data Science. Currently, we are looking for
someone to teach a course on "Platforms for Big Data Processing".
We are looking for someone with a strong background in distributed
computing and with specific experience in Hadoop and its ecosystem
(HBase, Hive, Pig and Spark).
Qualifications: Master's degree or other
profession-appropriate graduate degree in a related field is
required; a doctoral degree is preferred.Prior teaching experience
is not required for either type of course but candidates should
have 6+ years of post-undergraduate professional (industrial or
academic) experience.
