Job Duties

Provide various levels of computer support to Venice Family Clinic. Receive orders for computer hardware, software, and accessories. Install and configure new computer equipment and computer peripherals. Install, configure and maintain Operating System and multiple software packages on workstations. Image workstations. Install, Configure and maintain workstation to facilitate network services including providing staff access to servers. Troubleshoot and repair damaged or crashed systems/accessories, purchasing necessary parts and accessories as needed. Configure and setup Cisco phones. Clean PC"s, mouse, and printers of dust periodically. Dispose of old, broken, non-usable computer equipment. Respond to user requests for I.T. assistance e.g. Computer hardware problems (workstation/printer). Issues related to software configuration. E-mail related needs/problem. Support Nextgen EHR and EP . Problems related to UCLA Mednet email. Computer virus problems and other computer related problems. Respond to questions/provide advice to staff with varied technical skills and abilities to achieve clinic"s goals and objectives. Help users understand systems and software capabilities. Help users understand University and Clinic computer-related regulations and policies, and aid in the enforcement of such regulations and policies. Help users in the set-up for PowerPoint presentations. Help set-up training room. Maintain and update an accurate inventory of computer equipment by user, date of purchase, model of hardware, and funding source, if any. Conduct an annual physical inventory of all computer equipment. Provide reports to Accounting Dept. on disposed computer equipment indicating disposal date, original purchase, quantity, and description. Maintain inventory of computer supplies (computer media, ribbons, toners) and place order when supplies are running low. Maintain, track and update user software licenses, keeping track of number of licenses and expiration dates as well as assessing need for additional licenses. Maintain an organized inventory/storage of software CD"s and diskettes for easy retrieval when needed. Maintain detailed logs of user requests for I.T. assistance indicating dates when request was received and when request was completed. Maintain hard copy files of various patient visits reports needed for internal use as well as those required by grants. Maintain and update list of computer IP address, S/N, building and connection wall-jack ID. Via the Family News and Staff Bulletin Board, remind staff regarding compliance with I.T. regulations and schedules

Job Qualifications

Skill in trouble-shooting computer hardware/software problems. Skill in trouble-shooting network connectivity problems. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize effectively. Working knowledge of Windows 2000/XP/7, Microsoft Office 2000/2003/2010, and various computer utilities, business, and clinical software including Nextgen EHR/EPM and Sophos Anti-Virus. Working knowledge of Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server, and network topologies, local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN). Working knowledge of Nextgen EHR and EPM. Ability to lift up to 50-lb equipment. Ability to travel to our different sites (Pico, VHC). Valid California Driver License and subject to the DMV pull notice.
