Job Description

Job Duties
Staff Pharmacist I performs a range of functions that includes the preparation and dispensing drugs in the outpatient setting; maintenance and review of patient medication profiles; counseling patients on appropriate drug use; reviewing medication orders and patient's medical record as well as interacting with other health professionals to help prevent inappropriate or misuse of medications.

Job Qualifications
1. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and professional staff. 2. Ability to set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. 3. Ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision. 4. Ability to effectively communicate orally on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and to persuade others to adopt a specific opinion or action. 5. Knowledge of and ability to perform age specific and disease specific pharmacokinetic calculations. 6. Skills in writing memos and evaluations. 7. Ability to evaluate and resolve staffing needs. 8. Knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to the practice of pharmacy. 9. Ability to review and assess the appropriateness of prescriptions with respect to age specific, disease state specific considerations. 10. Experience working in a hybrid inpatient/outpatient pharmacy setting , desired 11. Experience wokring in a specialty pharmacy setting, desired
