Job Description

Job Duties
The GI Tech is responsible for endoscope and equipment processing. Scope repair processing, inventory control, and documentation of High Level Disinfection (HLD) testing logs. Assists with specimen collection and therapeutic intervention

Job Qualifications
1. Knowledge and adherence to Medical Plaza and Medical Procedures Unit policies and procedures following orientation. 2. Skill in reading documents written in standard English test such as administrative policy and procedure manuals. 3. Skill in evaluation and implementation of technical information such as operation manuals and directions for use of disinfectants, lubricants, and other cleaning agents. 4. Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly to obtain and convey information to various levels within the organization. 5. Writing skills sufficient to use appropriate vocabulary and grammar when logging, reporting, etc. 6. Ability to speak on a one to one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and provide information. 7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all team members and ancillary staff. 8. Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. 9. Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect importance to job responsibilities. 10. Ability to work independently and interdependently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. 11. Ability to adapt to change either in work load or in assignments. 12. Skill and manual dexterity required to work with intricate equipment without dropping or damaging same. 13. Ability to stand for prolonged time periods. 14. Previous GI experience strongly preferred
