Job Description

Job Duties
The UCLA Center for Prehospital Care (CPC) is the leading emergency and prehospital academic center on the West Coast. Clinical Instructors provide short skills presentations and skills instruction in the UCLA Phlebotomy Program. Phlebotomy Clinical Instructors must work a minimum of 12 shifts per fiscal year, with responsibilities that include but not limited to, providing demonstrations, instructing phlebotomy students on the application of equipment, and performance of practical skills. Acting as a student advocate in the learning process, creating an active learning environment, ensuring course requirements and objectives are met, and assisting in the development of educational objectives as well as testing methods, and other duties as assigned. This is a 10% per diem position with opportunities to secure additional hours for well qualified candidates.

Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications. Certification as a California Certified Phlebotomist. Minimum of one (1) year working experience in a hospital emergency department. Minimum of three (3) years working as a Phlebotomist for 40 hours or more in an organization certified by State of California, Laboratory Field services. Current provider certification in BLS from the American Heart Association. Available to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends, arrive on time, and meet minimum scheduling requirements of 12 shifts per fiscal year. Ability to foster a stimulating classroom environment. Skill in working independently and following through with minimal direction. Skill in working as part of a team collaborating with colleagues.
