Job Description

Job Duties
Development of the clinical Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) Program including policies and procedures related to nursing care of PAH patients (ranging from general care of PAH patients to specifics of prostacyclin therapy and device management), nursing practice guidelines and standards of care. Development of PAH patient education materials. Ongoing evaluation of PAH program including customer satisfaction and outcomes evaluation. Educate and supervise other team members. Coordinate and/or provide training and education for UCLA staff caring for PAH patients. Inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
Must have valid California RN license. ACLS certification required. RN with minimum 3 years clinical experience, ICU preferred. Previous experience in PAH preferred. Previous program development and evaluation experience preferred. Ability to describe, evaluate and document findings on physical examination. Ability to provide clinical treatment and management of disease in collaboration with PAH Providers (Physicians, Nurse Practitioner). Skill in identifying, ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests. Ability to operate a computer to obtain lab results, log clinic visits and input/retrieve data from tracking system. Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and applicable standards. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with PAH physicians a11:15:59nd staff.
